New officers elected, News, Congrats to Mr. Monnier

We hope everyone had fun at Bingo last night!  During the PTO meeting, we elected Dety Ngassa as our new Co-President and Denise Babin as our new Co-Secretary.  We now have a full board of officers. Welcome, Dety and Denise!

The PTO got a sneak peek into a morning meeting at the school, today, as parents do not usually attend.  The kids and teachers were so full of school spirit!  We were impressed with how quiet and respectful the students were during the presentations.  They sang, they danced, they shared compliment cards, and Mr. Monnier received a very special award.

Superior Plumbing and The Marietta Daily Journal award an iPad Air to one teacher a week in Cobb County based on nominations by students and parents.  Our very own fifth grade teacher Mr. Monnier was this week’s recipient. Congratulations, Mr. Monnier.  If you would like to nominate a teacher, click HERE. (Nomination period starts Nov. 1st.)

The KCSMA News Team reporters were hot on the trail of the Monnier news story.20151030_082552

The PTO spoke to the students about being vendors at our upcoming Gingerbread Bazaar.  The kids were very excited to hear about this money making opportunity.  We told them about the activities being planned for the bazaar, and cheers erupted when the words MARSHMALLOW SNOWBALL FIGHT were mentioned.  Student vendor applications and bazaar information can be found HERE.

Here are some pictures from Bingo and the morning meeting.

Volunteers needed for Fall Dance on November 13th.
This is a great way to get volunteer hours. If your child is old enough to enjoy the dance without you by their side, you could volunteer while they have fun!

Thank you, KCSMA County Fair

Thank you to Kay Richardson and Chelsey Kinsinger for all your hard work planning the KCSMA County Fair!

A special thanks goes out to all of our parents, families, staff, and community members who volunteered during the fair.  It takes so many hands to put on a big event like this, and we really could not do it without you!

Thank you to Dave Peeples, school board member and newly crowned GRILLMASTER.  He manned the grill all day, along with guys from our F.B.I. group.

Huge thanks to the NFL DREAM players.  These men worked at the fair all day and even took part in the pie in the face game.  Your involvement with our kids means so much, and we appreciate you!

Thank you, Derek Easterling for your special goldfish handling skills.  Derek, who is running for Kennesaw Mayor, came to judge the chili cook-off but ended up wrangling goldfish like a pro.

The kids (and adults) love to smoosh whipped cream into the teachers’ faces, and this year’s participants were such good sports.  Thank you, Miss Bailey, Miss Sanderfer, Mr. Page, Mr. Traster (ast. principal), and Mr. Monnier!

There are more pictures posted on the KCSMA PTO Facebook page.  If you have any great photos, please send them to, so we can share them.

THANK YOU to everyone for coming out to the fair.  Again, volunteers and staff, we really appreciate you giving up your time to help create these wonderful memories for our kids.  ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
