F.B.I. Meeting

Immediately following Principal’s Coffee, 8:45am-9:30am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015

We are starting a group of involved father figures called F.B.I. (Fathers Being Involved).  There will be a meeting for brainstorming on September 8, 2015, immediately following the Principal’s Coffee until 9:30am, in the KCSMA dining room.

This group welcomes any and all involved male friends or family members.  It will be part of the PTO but its own committee.  We will be recruiting members to act as chairperson(s).  This meeting will serve as a brainstorming session to figure out what types of activities or duties the F.B.I. will perform for the school and students.

If you are unable to attend but would like more information, please email  Everyone who has signed up for information on this group will receive an email after the meeting to let them know what was discussed.  If you signed up for information but have not received an email, please email to let us know (some emails were kicked back to the PTO, so we must not have correct email addresses).

We hope to see you there!

☆☆☆Afternoon Carpool Reminder☆☆☆

Parents may pick up their children for appointments until 2:15pm.  If the carpool line has begun prior to 2:15pm, people are unable to get into the parking lot. Please be respectful of this KCSMA policy.  If you arrive at the school before 2:15pm, pull into a parking spot and wait.  Cars lined up in the driving lanes and parking lot hinder traffic and prevent people from getting into the school.

The policy may be viewed here and in the handbook here.

Thank you for your understanding.

Volunteers needed for Book Fair

◇◇◇We Need You!◇◇◇

The Scholastic Book Fair starts on August 27, 2015.  All of the classes visit at least once, to fill out wishlists, shop, or both.  Many volunteers are needed to  assist the students.  The younger grades need a lot of one on one help filling out their wishlists.

Please consider signing up to volunteer at the book fair here.  If you work 4 hours or more, you will receive a 20% discount on purchases made at this book fair.  Your child’s teacher will also receive a $5 credit for every shift you work.

Any time you can give is appreciated!

Sept. 8 Principal’s coffee

Mark your calendars for the first Principal’s Coffee of the year.  On Tuesday, September 8th, Mrs. Frey and Mr. Traster will meet with parents from 8:00am to 8:45 am in the dining room.  Coffee will be provided.

This is a great opportunity to hear all the latest school news and meet other parents.  Hope to see you there!

Thank you, volunteers!

♡♡We love our volunteers!♡♡

We would like to send out a big THANK YOU to all of the awesome volunteers we have had these first two weeks.  KCSMA really depends on its families to help enhance the experience for our children by donating their time.

Teachers are so grateful to have dedicated room parents and Box Tops coordinators.  If you are interested in helping your child’s teacher by doing projects in the classroom or at home or being a mystery reader, let your child’s teacher know.

We are in the process of expanding the library into a Research and Development Center.  A lot has been completed, but we still have quite a bit to do to finish the transformation.  Thank you to the volunteers who have helped so far!

The new father figures group, F.B.I. ( Fathers Being Involved) is in the early stages of planning.  This will be a group of male role models who have taken an interest in our students’ educations and will be volunteering in various ways at the school.  If this is something you are interested in, please send an email to

Please visit here to view our current volunteer opportunities.  Again, thank you to all of our volunteers.  We could not do it without you!
